Wooden Mihrabs in the Islamic World

Prayer niches (mihrab) made of wood are rare, at least only very few have survived until today.

One is the Mihrab from the inner Anatolian village of Damsa Köy (in the Etnographic Museum in Ankara), another one was in the Madras al Halawiyyah in Aleppo (whereabout unclear) while a third example is from Central Asia, the Mihrab from Iskodar, kept in the Tajik National Museum in Dushanbe.
